Constructed in 1834, Sandwich Town Hall was reestablished to its previous brilliance in 2009. The second-floor dance hall and theater are especially excellent with their generally precise roof stenciling of tan and earthy colored paint and gold leaf. As in the mid-1900s, quiet movies are again introduced here complete with a live piano backup. Sandwich Town Hall was allowed a Preservation Award for Rehabilitation and Restoration by the Massachusetts Historical Commission in 2011. In 2014 Sandwich, the most established town on the Cape will praise its 375th commemoration.
